Just wanted to share with you my favourite poem. I first heard it at school when I was taking English Literature A Level. I never completed the course and how I wish I had listened, paid attention and absorbed it all a little more.
Now I love to read , poems , fiction and even things that are hard to really understand. I have vowed to read more this coming year and immerse myself in books again.
Its funny isn't it? Sometimes the road we abandon so purposefully is the one we end up gravitating towards anyway.....
So here it is, He wishes for the cloths of heaven by W.B Yeats.
Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.
