Primark Haul

As promised some pictures of my latest Primark haul!

I needed some things for our holiday to Devon next month and I didn't want to leave it until we (hopefully) get some sun otherwise everything is sold out in my size and my budget is quite limited

I also got some nice hair accessories and some t shirts for sleeping in :)

Loving these oversized t shirts, thought they'd be perfect for wearing around the house with leggings when I'm doing the chores!

T shirts from the men's department for sleeping in, super comfy and fun too , Primark does lots of licensed t shirts pretty cheap, I think these were £6/8 pounds each

I couldn't resist these super cute unicorn print pyjamas!

Close up of the print :)

These are beach cover ups, they're long line oversized vests with prints on the front, they're really soft and perfect for trips to get ice cream :) I reckon they'll make great make shift blankets for the boy if needed!  These were just £5 each

I got two of these stripy vests (£2.50 each) and this camo biker jacket was in the sale for £10!

Lots of pretty hair accessories as well to brighten up my plain everyday "uniform" of black with black , love these sparkly skull kirby grips!

I was very pleased with my bargains, now all I need is a new swimsuit, a separate post needed for that one I think! x

Technology? Ain't nobody got time for that!

I must apologise for the annoying misalignment of my photos. At the moment I mostly blog from my phone as my laptop takes an age to get going and I don't have a camera other than on my mobile.

A new camera is on my wishlist for Christmas this year, I've always loved photography and I'd love to do more, alas for now I'm stuck with my iPhone , so please excuse the rubbish layout from time to time!

Do you have any camera recommendations? x

My name is Anna, and I'm a Polyvore Addict....

So this is my new obsession! Between this and Pinterest I'm getting little done! For those of you who don't know , Polyvore is an awesome site to make pretty collages of fashion, it also has a shopping function plus you can follow people and like others creations!

You can follow me there under the name of vintagehopesandretrodreams, here's a few first sets from me x

Want Face!

Purple Dm's with skulls and black Victorian patterns on them?? Gimme!!

Kelly Brook Make Up

I went and did a little shopping today in our local town, ill show you the other things I bought in a little while but first a review of Kelly Brook make up.

I didn't know this was available until yesterday when I stumbled upon it on a Polyvore post, by the way, Polyvore is my latest addiction (thanks Siv!!!) you can follow me there under the same name as this blog!

Anyway I went into New Look today to see if there were any items left and I found some! I bought a lipstick and nail polish.

The packaging looks amazing but unfortunately it's quite cheap. The lipstick bottom has already fallen off!

The lipstick is called Mistress. It's a nice red, quite waxy though so I don't think it will last long

A swatch on my hand.........

It's nice but nothing special. The nail polish is called Neon, quite a pretty colour especially for toes but the formulation is quite thick :(

A swatch (please ignore the dodgy cuticles!)

Both items were nice but I wouldn't buy them again. A shame as they look so pretty!! They would make great gifts I think, I also couldn't find any information about their cruelty free status, so all in all , a  pretty disappointment!

I did however pick up a very cute hand sanitizer that smells of cupcakes. I go through bottles of sanitizers especially with a five year old. This one has a pink sparkly loop to hook onto your bag, so handy too!

Happy Fathers Day

So it's Father's Day here in the U.K, I'm lucky to still have my Dad around and we've always had a great relationship (if you skip those teenage years!!) We have the same tastes in food and some of my best memories are me and my dad watching movies and car racing on a Sunday afternoon

Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there :)

Arghhhhhhh

Urgh, I have had such a busy week and on top of it all my hayfever has begun it's yearly invasion with earnest :( I suffer terribly as soon as June arrives. My eyes are unbearably itchy right now and then they get sore afterwards. I feel like hiding and not going outside just to get some relief!

I haven't really been up to anything exciting this week, my son started football training so I can envisage a large proportion of my life now standing on the sidelines in all weathers! Hmmm I wonder if that justifies a new coat purchase....with a matching hat ....and gloves.... :)

This does mean I have nothing pretty to post pictures of, but last week was an excellent one for me in the charity shops!! The bargain Gods shone fairly upon me, I'll do a post soon about my latest treasures!

Until then I hope you all have a lovely weekend xx

Barry M Collection

I was purging my make up collection this afternoon , getting rid of stuff I don't use and that doesn't suit me, and I realised I've got quite a growing Barry M collection! So I thought I'd do a super quick review of some of my favourites.

I love this brand, cheap , cheerful and cruelty free! For a long time they just made nail polish and glitter dusts, they were kind of the first make up brand to make more "alternative" make up, I remember vividly having one of their mood lipsticks as a teenager :)

I think the nail polishes have to be my favourite, particularly the glitters. My favourite colour for toes is what I call my "Dorothy Pedicure" I use one coat of 262 bright red and one coat of 150 red glitter on top. It makes the glitter look really dense and shiny, just like Dorothy's ruby slippers.

I have several of the dazzle dusts too , my favourite shade is 98, an amazing navy with a purple shimmer. I do have one of the fine glitter dusts but I don't think these are as wearable as the glitter is quite chunky. I love using the dazzle dust as a highlight in the centre of my eyelid, I did this recently on a shoot and it came out so well in the pictures.

The lip glosses are also well worth it, the clear is great and replaces my old collection 2000 one nicely, I also have an amazing red glitter one , shade 9 which smells and tastes of cherries! The glitter is quite chunky though, something to bear in mind.

The regular eyeshadows are lovely, particularly shade 7 which is a beautiful iridescent pink, very subtle and is great as a base colour, the imperfection correction concealer pen is also a good buy.

The only thing that I've been disappointed with so far has been the mascaras. I think the Eye Of Horus one is SO much better, yes it's much more expensive, but as mascara is my must have make up item, I don't mind. It wasn't awful, just not enough oomph for me, I like big fat lashes!

You can find Barry M at any Superdrug or you can shop online at www.barrym.com

(I'm sorry if the pictures aren't aligned, I need to fiddle with the blog settings but I haven't had the time as yet, bear with me! Xx)
